Mallow (cheese plant) (common mallow/cheese plant)- it was believed that mallow helped people rise above their urges and passions, so it was an important antidote for love potions - Repressing desire.
Used as an antinflamitory - treatment of roseacea. Mallow leaves, root and seed pods all have a viscous quality - and so were used to make the original marsh mallows.
